Frequently asked questions
How does the per-pass fee work?
When a customer buys a pass, Passyn takes the platform fee (5% on Starter, 3% on Growth) plus 30¢, and the rest settles to your account on your payout schedule. The split is snapshotted per transaction, so plan changes never affect past sales.
Do I need a Stripe account?
Yes — payouts run on Stripe Connect. The merchant onboarding wizard walks you through connecting or creating one in about two minutes.
What counts as an API request?
Every authenticated call to /api/v1/*. Access verifications, pass reads and webhook deliveries are all designed to be cheap and cacheable; most integrations stay well within Starter limits.
Can I switch plans later?
Anytime. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the billing cycle. Your passes, customers and analytics carry over untouched.
Is there a sandbox?
Yes — test-mode API keys (pk_test_…) work against full-fidelity sandbox data with no real charges, on every plan including Starter.
